“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV
Give a child a piece of candy and allow them to eat it, later on place a bowl full of candy right in front of them and tell them not to touch it. Sounds like torture right??? Eventually the child will fall right into the trap and devour as much candy as their little bodies can possibly handle.
The more you feed your flesh, the more it will crave…
We often experience the same scenario with falling into sin. Thinking to yourself that one little “bite” of sin will not hurt you is truly deceiving yourself. That one “bite” of sin can turn into devouring an entire bowl of sinful deeds. The thing about sin especially sexual sin is the pleasure is temporary and the flesh can never be truly satisfied. Just like candy it may look good, smell good or even taste good but, it is extremely harmful to our temple. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Living a life of purity is detrimental to living a life pleasing in the sight of God. You must take your hand out of that “sinful” candy bowl and repent. Focus on living a life committed to dying to your fleshly desires daily. Our flesh is weak and lacks self control. Thru, the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to overcome what we once fell for. So surrender and allow the Holy Spirit to have its way with you. Remember, Jesus paid it all so that we could overcome death from sin. Take your hand out of the sin filled candy bowl and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you up with his presence.
“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
In order to live eternally, you must die daily.
Jesus loves you 💜✝️
