“And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”
-Genesis 6:3 KJV
History often repeats itself but, in this case it has nothing to do with the latest trend in fashion. The Bible gives multiple warnings declaring the return of Jesus and all that is to come. This repeat in history is of what’s to come in this lost world that continues to morally and spiritually deteriorate.
We can go all the way back to the book of Genesis to see how wicked the world was at that time (Genesis 6:5). It was so bad that God expressed his concerns with all that took place as being “grieved” for even creating mankind (Genesis 6:6). God’s righteous judgement would eventually take place however, his unfailing mercy gave mankind 120 years to turn away from their wicked ways and repent.
“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
Genesis 6:11-13 KJV
Take a look at today’s world perversion, violence, wickedness in every form and fashion is prevalent. Turn on your local news and it’s one story of crime after the next. Log onto social media and the majority of posts being shared are purely evil yet, they seem to get the most attention. The Bible states that in the last days men will be “despisers of those that are good” (2 Timothy 3:3). There will also be people “that call evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).”
Living in this lost world does not mean that we have to conform or live in constant fear. It actually means the opposite, Noah lived in the midst of it all and was able to find grace in the eyes of God. I’m sure he was mocked daily for building the ark and spreading the gospel. But, Noah’s unshakeable faith and obedience to God was what saved him and his family.
I’m sure that those that once mocked Noah as he built it, knocked on the side of the ark begging for mercy as it sailed away.
Keep in mind those that disobeyed God during the days of Noah had 120 years of warnings to repent. When Jesus returns there will be no friendly reminder that pops up on our phones telling us to repent and turn from our wicked ways (Matthew 24:36). Living a life of spiritual mediocrity must come to a end, you can not love the world and love God you must choose one (1 John 2:15). The time is nigh!!!
- Always obey, be bold for the kingdom, never stop praying or spreading the gospel and stand boldly in unshakeable faith.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
2 Timothy 3:1-5 KJV
